As predicted last week, Apple today has officially released it’s 17″ Macbook Pro laptop. Now available from it’s Online Store Apple Macbook Pro costs $2799 and features:
2.16GHz Intel Core Duo Processor
1GB (single SODIMM) 667MHz DDR2 SDRAM, additional 1GB for +$300
17-inch (diagonal), 1680 x 1050 resolution, TFT widescreen
ATI Mobility Radeon X1600 with 256MB of GDDR3 SDRAM and dual-link DVI
Built-in iSight Camera, DVI, VGA (DVI to VGA adapter included)
120GB 5400 rpm or 100GB 7200 rpm Serial ATA HDD
SuperDrive (DVD+R DL/DVD±RW/CD-RW)
Weight: 6.8 pounds
Dimensions: 15.4 x 10.4 x 1 inch
Like it’s 15″ predecessor, 17″ Core Duo Apple MacBook Pro also comes with built in iSight camera, FronRow software with Apple Remote and iLife 06 software suite.
And it is actually $500 cheaper then 17″ Dell XPS1710 with similar configuration. Granted, Apple Macbook doesn’t have the “latest and greatest” NVIDIA 7900 card, but now, with the ability to run Windows XP, 17″ Apple Macbook Pro looks like a great choice to replace your old Wintel desktop.
