Niche laptop makers usually try differentiate their offerings via sturdiness like  Kontron and Twinhead, or through original/luxury design like Tulip or Medion. And then they charge a hefty premium for that.

So how else can you make your laptop different and make additional grand or two a piece? How about adding additional screen instead of keyboard to the laptop? And then pitching it to Accountants, Field Agents, Attorneys, Police Officers, Emergency Response Personnel, Real Estate Agents, Sales Representatives as a perfect device to for multiple document viewing, multitasking and what not?

Apparently Dell thinks that it is time to upgrade it’s Latitude line of business notebooks.

LaptopReview found the names of these new laptops on Dell support pages and then were able to confirm them on several University Websites.

For now there are 2 laptops mentioned here - Dell Latitude D630 and Latitude D830 mentioned in what obviously will be the upgrade of older Latitude D620 and D830 models. The notebooks will be upgraded with the new Intel Santa Rosa platform which has following features:

BenQ has announced their new line of Joybook Notebooks - BenQ Joybook A52. According to the Taiwanese vendor, Joybook A52 series is “a preface to BenQ’s new line of Joybooks which will be incorporating a brand new design in 2007″. Inspired by “the sleek design of piano” they should look really cool, but we’ll have to see them first.
